3 join Business Report in editorial, advertising

BOULDER — Three new employees have joined The Boulder County Business Report to fill positions in editorial and advertising.

Jeanie Straub is the newspaper’s new staff writer. Although Straub will be reporting on a wide range of different business sectors, her primary beats will be commercial and residential real estate and banking and finance. Straub will write the Business Report’s monthly real estate and development column.

Straub, who most recently was employed in the library of the Rocky Mountain News,

has been both a staff writer and freelance reporter for the Broomfield Enterprise. She also worked on the copy desk of the Daily Camera and was the police reporter for the Greeley Tribune.

Straub is a graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver with a degree in journalism.

Robert Russell, a history graduate of Colorado State University, has been named an advertising account executive for The Business Report. His primary account territory will be commercial real estate.

Russell previously was an advertising account manager with Gravity Magazine, published by Sports & Fitness Publishing. Prior to that he was a special events coordinator with the Vail Valley Tourism and Convention Bureau.

Ellen Brown also has been named an advertising account executive for The Business Report, with retail and restaurants as her primary territory. Brown also will be working with the newspaper’s special projects department, including the Front Range Vacation Guide.

Brown has 14 years of sales and marketing experience. Her last sales positions were with Planet 3 Imaging and Air Photo Inc. in Boulder. She also was an advertising saleswoman with Homes and Land Magazine.
