VANTAS brings exec suites to Broomfield

BROOMFIELD — Providing executive office suites and high-tech business support services, VANTAS, Officing Solutions Worldwide, has added a site in Eldorado Ridge Office Park — adjacent to Interlocken business park.

The new location complements the company’s five other Colorado locations.

Previously known as ALLIANCE Business Centers, the company merged in January with Interoffice Holdings Corp. and Reckson Executive Centers to form VANTAS.

“Our continued expansion responds to the needs of our corporate clients who have growing requirements for alternative work space and business services in multiple cities worldwide,´ said President and Chief Executive Officer David Beale.

The company plans to open 75 new centers this year.

VANTAS, based in New York, first opened as ALLIANCE Business Centers in 1986.

According to the Executive Suite Association, there are 4,000 executive suites in the United States — 80 million square feet of office space.

With the merger, VANTAS now has more than 170 locations worldwide and bills itself as the “nation’s largest executive suite company.”

VANTAS has six locations in the Denver metro area. At Eldorado Ridge, the company leased 22,280 square feet and created 81 offices, which are available for short- and long-term leasing. Seven VANTAS employees eventually will staff the location.

“Unlike traditional real estate where it is just the four walls, or just space, our niche is that it’s equipped,´ said Lisa McCormick, general manager of the Eldorado Ridge suites.

The executive suites include furniture, office equipment and services such as telephone systems and high-speed Internet access. There is also a conference room and kitchen area. But there is more.

Each center is staffed with a telephone operator, who handles incoming calls, and clerical support, including desktop publishers and word processors. Every location has a general manager and an operations manager on site.

McCormick said businesses can have an address, phone and receptionist within 48 hours. “It’s great for companies that want to establish themselves quickly in the market,” she said.

Kirk North, a client of VANTAS at the Eldorado Ridge location, agrees. He is the Denver office manager for Object Systems Group, a consulting firm that helps large companies transition to new technologies.

“You can walk into a business and hit the ground running with zero downtime,´ said North, whose company has used VANTAS executive office suites for more than two years for its Colorado, Atlanta and Northern Virginia offices. But despite the cost of leasing everything, North said it is cost-effective to use VANTAS.

“The extra money I pay for the office is far less than to put everything in its place,´ said North. “I don’t have to go through hiring staff or buying expensive office materials that are needed to run a technical company.”

Clients are only billed for the time they use the staff or equipment.

“These companies don’t have to train and manage people,´ said McCormick. “We do all of that, and they are our employees. They don’t have to pay all the insurance and taxes that it costs to employ people, which allows them to just focus on building their business.”

North said another benefit is complementary access to more than 170 VANTAS locations worldwide. That means that while he is traveling he can visit any VANTAS location and use the facilities, including e-mail, Internet access and video conferencing.

VANTAS has another product, OFFICEACCESS, which gives companies the identity of being in a building without having to physically be there.

McCormick said some companies don’t have the need or the budget for full-time overhead, but occasionally they need a prestigious conference room to meet a client or part-time office. She added that some companies may need to have a presence in other cities in order to business there.

“They can say they have a Colorado office, even though they aren’t physically here,´ said McCormick.
