Technology, art come together in exhibit exploring community

BOULDER – The visual arts museum at the University of Colorado Art Galleries is seeking entries for the museum’s electronic easel exhibition, a collection of works combining the use of technology with contemporary artistic practices.

Developing from museum discussions on art and technology and the connection between these two different ways of knowing, the exhibition is designed to explore the convergence of these forms as they define and redefine culture and community. Project themes should center in the relationship between art and technology while depending on technology conceptually, physically and mechanically. In addition, projects must investigate new forms of communication and ultimately challenge the way we view art.

The exhibition is set for June 8 through Aug. 12, 2000. Collaborations between artists and technology professionals are encouraged. Call Simon Zalkind at (303) 399-2660 ext. 151 or Hillary Metz at (303) 247-9153.
