New role for recently hired Sierra Space exec

LOUISVILLE — Jeff Schrader, who was hired in March to serve as Sierra Space Corp.’s chief strategy officer, has moved into the role of chief financial officer.

He “will now lead the company’s financial strategy, capital planning and enterprise execution priorities as Sierra Space advances its next phase of growth,” SSC said in a news release.

Schrader was previously president of SEAKR Engineering LLC and Blue Canyon Technologies LLC.

“Our nation depends on us to execute and deliver,” SSC CEO Dan Jablonsky said in the release. “Jeff has a proven record in business and financial leadership, deep national security expertise, strategic insight and is the right leader for this role at a pivotal moment for the company. He has spent more than 25 years providing leadership on national security missions—from the U.S. Air Force to RTX to Lockheed Martin Space—and he brings that full capability to bear as CFO to help us scale mission performance, allocate capital with precision, and deliver on our customers’ highest priorities.”

Jablonsky is also a fairly new addition to Sierra Space, which spun out of Sierra Nevada Corp. in 2021. Formerly the CEO of Berthoud-headquartered missile- and rocket-propulsion company Ursa Major Technologies Inc., SSC hired Jablonsky in early 2026.
