More feedback sought on Greeley-Evans Transit rebranding
GREELEY — An all-day open house Monday is being planned by Greeley-Evans Transit to get more public feedback on its plan for new routes, bus improvements and a new name: Gallop.
The rebranding, complete with bright orange buses, was unveiled during the Greeley Stampede Independence Day Parade last Saturday. The changes are the result of feedback gathered from residents since Greeley’s mobility development plan was approved early last year, but officials want to hear more from the public.
The open house will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Greeley-Evans Transit Center, 101 11th Ave., and those unable to attend can leave comments at SpeakUpGreeley.com/mobility-development-plan until July 23.
The city worked with Longmont-based Studio Six on the rebranding, and the $650,000 cost is being covered by a partnership with Lamar Advertising Co.
The new bus routes and rebranding are scheduled to launchAug. 20.
As initially proposed, the updated transit system would include a “Mobility as a Service” approach where residents pay for different ways to get around, including on buses, shuttles, bikes, scooters and microtransit services, according to materials on a City of Greeley website. The approach would move beyond fixed transit routes of bus service, and would serve Greeley, Evans, Garden City, Windsor, Johnstown, Loveland and Fort Collins, according to the materials.
